Michael Raye is a composer, pianist, and recording artist whose work bridges film, television, and live performance.
As a composer, he creates original scores that bring emotional depth and narrative clarity to visual storytelling. His recent work includes the award-winning short film Yard Saleing, for which he received Best Original Score at the Makihzmithran International Film Festival, as well as Table for Two and After Saturn, a collaboration with composer Pru Montin.
Michael’s music has been featured across television and media, including placements on Discovery Channel programming such as Expedition Unknown and Expedition X. He also produced the title song for the Sundance Grand Prize-winning film Just Another Girl on the IRT.
Over the course of his career, Michael has worked with a wide range of celebrated artists, including Gloria Gaynor, Daryl Hall, Deniece Williams, Phyllis Hyman, Richie Havens, Little Anthony and the Imperials, violinist John Blake Jr., and actor Keith David.
In addition to his work as a composer, Michael performs as SoulRaye, presenting an intimate piano and vocal experience that blends original music, storytelling, and reimagined classics.
